Launch Scene Overview

I think this documentary was very interesting and definitely captured my full attention. The director did very well to create tension and anticipations, considering we already know what is going to happen. An example of this is when the spaceship goes behind the moon and we lose contact with the spaceship for a couple of minutes, this moment was very tense even though we already know that they will be safe.

The sound played a key aspect in this as the raw unedited sounds of the rocket launching made you feel like you were there in person. the deafening noises put it in perspective how big and powerful the Apollo 11 really was. these diagetic noises make the documentary feel much more realistic, compared to non diagetic added noises.

The director of this documentary used cinematography exceptionally well. Different camera shots (e.g. close up) along with raw sound made it feel like we were truly there as the rocket launched.
